Empowerment Town Hall-Distribution Panel Kicks Off Vital Discussions at Sundance

I’m looking forward to the empowerment town hall-distribution panel tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at the New York Lounge on 545 Main Street.  John Reiss (author and film consultant), Matt Dentler (Film Buff), Logan Mulvey (GoDigital), Ira Deutchman (Emerging Pictures) and Erick Opeka (New Video) will be on hand to share insights about emerging trends and distributing independent films.  The first part of our panel will feature the audience — active members of the independent film community — who will share success stories.

What’s particularly intriguing at this time is the number of new options for alternate distribution.  Empowered producers understand that they need not be dependent upon established distributors to reach their audience.  Meet some of the new pioneers who are active in this arena.  My sense is that there has never been a better time to create, market and distribute independent films.  What do you think?  Please come to the panel where we will address reasons why we are optimistic.  I hope we hear from a wide range of industry participants and learn from their hands-on encounters.
