The Second Iron Man 3 Trailer

I’m a huge fan of Iron Man, going back to growing up in the 1980s and discovering his comic book. Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau and Marvel knocked it out of the park with the first two films, and The Avengers was incredible. And now Iron Man 3 is a little less than two months from opening with new director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) and I can’t wait. Today, Marvel Studios has premiered the latest trailer, and it’s EPIC! After you watch, check out my thoughts and an image, plus the comic book inspiration below!

Pretty epic trailer for Iron Man 3, huh? I gotta say, the Iron Legion at the end is terrific, as seen below, with a comparison from a smaller Iron Legion from Iron Man vol. 1 #300 by the great Len Kaminski, Kevin Hopgood and Tom Morgan, plus a look at issue 174 with a great cover of another Iron Legion of sorts.

 

My buddies over at Screen Rant have a spoiler-filled, unofficial guide to the new armors, including the Hulkbuster-esque guy at the end of the trailer. And yes, part of the Legion looks to be the Silver Centurion, a popular armor from issue 200, when Tony fought Iron Monger/Obadiah Stane.
